As the recreational use of cannabis has been legalized in many states, it's become more important than ever for employers to ensure that their substance abuse policies are being properly enforced. To help you with this, we're excited to offer comprehensive training designed specifically for supervisors.

Our training sessions will provide your supervisors with the tools they need to recognize the symptoms of substance abuse, identify indicators that create reasonable suspicion, and take appropriate action when substance abuse is detected. This training will help your supervisors navigate difficult situations easily and confidently.

At only $100 for virtual attendance or $125 for in-person attendance, our training sessions are an affordable way to help your team stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and best practices. The training will cover a range of important topics, including:

• 60 minutes of training on the symptoms of alcohol abuse

• 60 minutes of training on the symptoms of controlled substance abuse

• Teaching supervisors to identify indicators that may create reasonable suspicion that an employee is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, supporting referral of an employee for testing

• Regulatory requirements regarding reasonable suspicion determination

• The reasonable suspicion process (observe, confirm, document, confront, test)

• Techniques for approaching drivers or workers to ease tense situations

• How to handle difficult situations when confronting drivers or workers

• Documenting observed behavior

• The warning signs of alcohol and drug abuse and what you should look for when determining reasonable suspicion

• The effects of alcohol and drugs on the body

• What happens after testing?

• Persons who dispatch and supervise CDL drivers will receive a certificate indicating they have received training that meets all DOT requirements.
